Breaching your Assumption (Poem)

Grasping for inner emptiness
emanates from dense chaos.

While striving for mind silence
you declare to the Universe,
“I must escape my screaming thoughts!”

Look deeper.
Peer beneath to find:
a “you” which possesses thoughts,
an assumed individual
clinging to a mind without origin,
suffering the assumption
of owning repetitive sentences.

Seeing the truth of no self
pulls the drain plug,
dissolves the torture dam.

Message for Today

A useful meditation is to watch your thoughts come from nowhere and return there. Possessing them is an assumption which empowers them and branches them, ensnaring the "you".
